Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, many people are still working from home due to which people require video conferencing apps. Seeing the growing craze of video calling, Reliance Jio has launched its own video conferencing app Jio Meet. Along with Google Play Store and Apple App Store, this app has also got launched for desktop users. There will be no charge of any kind to use the Jio meet app, and it will be free for everyone.
This app will directly compete with current video conferencing apps like Zoom, Google Meet, hangout, Microsoft Team and Skype. Jio Meet offers video conferencing in HD quality, and 100 people can get connected simultaneously. Unlike other video calling applications like Zoom, no code is needed to add up to 100 users to it, and the user has to click on the invite link. Users can become part of group video calling after clicking on the invite link.
The user interface of Jio Meet App is quite unusual, but it’s very much similar to zoom. Multi-device login support has been provided in the Jio Meet app, which can help connect a maximum of 5 devices. Users can also switch from one device to another during a call in the app. Jio Meet also offers a safe driving mode feature with screen sharing just like Team Viewer application.
Recently Indian government issued privacy policy and concerns of security on the use of the Zoom video calling app due to which Zoom updated its app. In such a situation, JioMeet can become a better option for Indian video conferencing users. Android users can download this app from Google Play Store and iPhone users from Apple App Store. There is no charge to download and use this app. Desktop users can download from the official Jio Meet website. Also, this app is available on the Windows Store.
